Our organic loose leaf olive tea is recommended as a staple to have in your cupboard. What we love is that it tastes so good ! You can have it on its own or with some lemon and honey, or even use it as a base for your prefered tea. It can also be blended with other herbs. Its main active property is oleuropein. It is what gives the tree its amazing strength to withstand most things which is why olive trees are renowned for their longevity. It surpasses the anti-oxidant properties of green tea. It is adaptogenic, meaning it balances, adding where needed or removing. It is safe for all ages. Only if you are on blood thinners or blood pressure meds be aware that its balancing action may mean you need less medication, so good to monitor.
Organic Olive Leaf Tea
Small packets contain approx 40g of loose organic leaves from small greek or spanish groves. We mainly pick from an organic family grove in the Peloponese. There is enough here to make approx 8-10 litres of tisane. You simply take a small palmful to 1 litre of preferably filtered or spring water and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes. Let it rest for a while so that the properties fully seap into the water. Then drink 1 -4 cups/mugs a day. The way we use it is once a day for health maintenance, but we increase if treating a condition or feel like the immune system needs support or feeling like we are going down with something.
If your body is needing a cleanse it will assist with this and so you may feel the effects of this such as headache, tiredness, even nausea if the liver is clogged.... nothing to be alarmed about, simply reduce dosage to a manageable level and drink plenty of water, eat fruits and light veg to help the body cleanse.
